Sitti Concert

Tagbilaran City was literally lesser populated by almost a thousand residents when Tagbilaranon drove to Panglao Island Nature Resort to watch Sitti's concert last February 15, 2008.Most of the "who's who" of Bohol were there.

Me, my husband, my daughter and my cousin went to the concert venue together. We got there at around 6:30 pm. Driving from Tagbilaran City to Dauis is about 15 minutes.

The event included a buffet dinner. Food wasn't very special though which composed of foods which included: adobong pusit, buttered chicken, pancit canton, sweet and sour fish fillet, lumpia shanghai, pata tim, leche flan, potato salad, and rice.

Perhaps because there was no other bigger event on February 14th, many flocked to the Sitti concert. I could say that the event was sold-out!

However, Sitti started singing only at 9:15 p.m. For people like us, who is used to be in bed as early as 7:30 pm, it was kinda late already.

Sitti is no doubt a good singer however, I think she is not just used to performing before bigger crowds. She doesn't move to much and she is not very good in her ad lib's too. In the earlier part of the show, it was kinda boring. Maybe because of the kind of songs she sings (bossanova), listening to them made me feel sleepy.

Im glad that towards the later portion of the show, the mood picked up. A guy from the audience whom Sitti requested to join her on stage, danced with her and he did a good job and what he did woke up sleepy heads.

Sitti officially ended the show at around 11 pm already. Since my daughter really wanted to have her Sitti CD authographed by Sitti herself, we rushed up to the back stage to join the line of instant fans to get a time with her. And we were lucky to get in line earlier. We had our chance to be with Sitti for a few minutes, let her sign our Sitti CDs and had pictures taken with her.

Since last night, playing Sitti's CD in the car is never the same anymore. It's even cooler to listen to her songs and think that we saw her in person too.
